Dr. Cavallino and his team place a high priority on prevention and recommends a regular dental program be established for children by the age of 12 months. This preventive approach to treatment guarantees healthier children and happier parents. Dr. Cavallino's professional qualifications include a B.S. degree from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas, a D.D.S. degree from Loyola University in New Orleans, and a certificate of residency in pediatric dentistry from the University of Nebraska, where he was chief resident. Dr. Cavallino is board certified in pediatric dentistry, being awarded the Diplomate status of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is also a surgical staff member at East Jefferson Hospital and Children's Hospital and a teacher on the graduate level at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry, Department of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Cavallino has served as chairman of the Dental Department of East Jefferson Hospital and as the pediatric dental advisor to the state of Louisiana for the state dental Medicaid program. Dr.
Claudia Cavallino is a
lifelong New Orleans resident who graduated from Mt.
Carmel Academy. She received
a B.A.
While in her residency she received extensive training which allows her to handle all aspects of children’s oral health care as well as advanced training in child psychology and behavior management, conscious sedation and hospital dentistry, and caring for children with special health care needs. For our youngest patients and those with special needs who sometimes require general anesthesia for dental treatment, Dr. Cavallino has surgical staff privileges at Children’s Hospital, East Jefferson General Hospital, and Terrebonne General Medical Center.
